Music & Worship Leadership
The Music & Worship Leadership major is an excellent course of study for the singer, musician or worship leader who desires training in: music ministry, leadership and worship music, music studies and performance, and music ensembles that excel in both contemporary and traditional styles. This 41-unit major includes 33 units of coursework, 4 units of Choir/Worship Team/Orchestra, and 4 units of Applied Music instruction. Eighteen units (6 courses) can be earned online as part of our Worship Leadership concentration.
The goal of the major is to develop music students into fully capable musicians who are able to perform, conduct and arrange quality music of many styles.
Special Requirements for Music Majors:
¨ Music majors must declare a specialization in voice, piano or an instrument in their first semester.
¨ Music majors taking applied lessons must perform before a faculty jury each semester.
¨ Music majors are expected to perform regularly in the special programs, as well as perform in concerts and tours with their Ensemble.
¨ Students who have not passed the piano proficiency exam must enroll in MUS 139 Class Piano.

*Students in the Music & Worship Leadership Major will receive .5 units per each 8 semesters of Applied Instructions for a total of 4 units.
** Students in the Music & Worship Leadership Major will participate in 4 semesters of Ensemble for 1 unit each for a total of 4 units. Students receiving a music scholarship will participate in an additional 4 semesters of Ensemble for a grade of Pass/Fail.
